Papers that apply existing methods in a novel context are also encouraged. Interdisciplinary papers and papers that illustrate the application of new and important statistical methods using real data are strongly encouraged. The journal does not normally publish papers that have a primary focus on human genetics, human health, or medical statistics.

Given many alternatives to publish exist within biostatistics, IJB offers a place to publish for research in biostatistics focusing on modern methods, often based on machine-learning and other data-adaptive methodologies, as well as providing a unique reading experience that compels the author to be explicit about the statistical inference problem addressed by the paper.

All differential equation based models for biomedical applications and their novel solutions (using either established numerical methods such as finite difference, finite element and finite volume methods or new numerical methods) are within the scope of this journal. Manuscripts with experimental and analytical themes are also welcome if a component of the paper deals with numerical methods. Special cases that may not involve differential equations such as image processing, meshing and artificial intelligence are within the scope. Any research that is broadly linked to the wellbeing of the human body, either directly or indirectly, is also within the scope of this journal.

DATABASE-THE JOURNAL OF BIOLOGICAL DATABASES AND CURATION《数据库:生物数据库与治疗杂志》。Database: The Journal of Biological Databases and Curation provides an open access platform for the presentation of novel ideas in database research surrounding biological information, and aims to help strengthen the bridge between database developers, curators, and users. In addition, the journal will provide a platform for the description of novel advances in the field of biocuration and promote the use of information from biological databases to assist in the planning and design of original research projects. Biocuration involves the translation of information relevant to biology and medicine, into an organized format, typically as a database, which enables the integration of scientific literature as well as large datasets such that information is accurately represented and readily accessible, as a source of information for scientists, and as a basis for computational analysis.

Biometrika《生物测量学》（季刊）. Biometrika is primarily a journal of statistics in which emphasis is placed on papers containing original theoretical contributions of direct or potential value in applications. From time to time, papers in bordering fields are also published.

Biometrics《生物计量学》（季刊）. Published on behalf of the International Biometric Society, Biometrics emphasizes the role of statistics and mathematics in the biosciences. Its objectives are to promote and extend the use of statistical and mathematical methods in the principal disciplines of biosciences by reporting on the development and application of these methods. A centerpiece of most Biometrics articles is scientific application that sets scientific or policy objectives, motivates methods development, and demonstrates the operations of new methods.

Biometrical Journal《生物统计杂志》（一年8期）. Biometrical Journal publishes papers on statistical methods and their applications in life sciences including medicine, environmental sciences and agriculture. Methodological developments should be motivated by an interesting and relevant problem from these areas. Ideally the manuscript should include a description of the problem and a section detailing the application of the new methodology to the problem. Case studies, review articles and letters to the editors are also welcome. Papers containing only extensive mathematical theory are not suitable for publication in Biometrical Journal.
