INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS:

Informacije MIDEM - Journal of Microelectronics, Electronic Components and Materials (ISSN 0352-90459) is a scientific-professional journal of Professional Society for Microelectronics, Electronic Components and Materials – MIDEM. In the Journal, scientific and professional contributions are published covering the field of microelectronics, electronic components and materials. All papers are subject to blind peer review.

Types of Contribution

The main article types are as follows:

Original scientific paper: Original research manuscripts. The journal considers all original research manuscripts provided that the work reports scientifically sound experiments and provides a substantial amount of new information. Authors should not unnecessarily divide their work into several related manuscripts, although Short Communications of preliminary, but significant, results will be considered. Quality and impact of the study will be considered during peer review.

Review scientific papers (upon invitation only): These provide concise and precise updates on the latest progress made in a given area of research. Systematic reviews should follow the PRISMA guidelines.

Informacije MIDEM has no restrictions on the length of manuscripts, provided that the text is concise and comprehensive. Full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced.

Manuscripts submitted to Informacije MIDEM should neither have been published before nor be under consideration for publication in another journal.

Accepted File Formats

Authors must use the Microsoft Word template to prepare their manuscript or at least format their pictures to fit within the two-column format of the template. Using the template file will substantially shorten the time to complete copy-editing and publication of accepted manuscripts. Accepted file formats are:

Microsoft Word: Manuscripts prepared in Microsoft Word must be converted into a single file before submission. When preparing manuscripts in Microsoft Word, the Informacije MIDEM Microsoft Word template file must be used. Please insert your graphics (schemes, figures, etc.) in the main text after the paragraph of its first citation.

Adobe PDF: Manuscripts may be submitted in a PDF format for the review process, but will have to be submitted in a Microsoft Word format for final copyediting process.

Supplementary files: May be any format, but it is recommended to use common, non-proprietary formats where possible.

Cover Letter

A cover letter must be included with each manuscript submission. It should be concise and explain why the content of the paper is significant, placing the findings in the context of existing work and why it fits the scope of the journal. It must also contain a statement confirming that neither the manuscript nor any parts of its content are currently under consideration for publication or published in another journal. The cover letter must include three to five potential reviewers with the appropriate expertise to review the manuscript. The editors will not necessarily approach these referees. The proposed referees should neither be current collaborators of the co-authors nor have published with any of the co-authors of the manuscript within the last five years. Proposed reviewers should be from different institutions than the authors and at least two from a different country than the authors. You may suggest reviewers from among the authors that you frequently cite in your paper. Please provide detailed contact information (full name and title, affiliation, homepage if available, and e-mail address). A list of excluded reviewers may also be provided.

Please upload a cover letter as a supplementary file (Step 4 of the submission process, Type: “other”, Specify other: “Cover Letter”, other fields may remain empty). Submissions will not be entered into the review process if a cover letter is not provided.

RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION ETHICS

The ethics statements of Informacije MIDEM - Journal of Microelectronics, Electronic Components and Materials are based on guidelines and standards developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We expect all parties to commit to these publication ethics. We do not tolerate plagiarism or any other unethical behaviour of any party. Manuscripts that not meet these standards will be removed.

Publication decisions and Editor's duties

The Editor-in-Chief and the Associate Editors are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The Editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.

The Editors must keep the information pertaining the submitted manuscript confidential and disclose any conflict of interest.

The manuscripts must be evaluated only for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Reviewer responsibilities

Reviewers must notify the Editor of any conflict of interest and keep the information pertaining the submitted manuscript confidential. Reviewers must evaluate the manuscript only for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors. The reviews should be conducted objectively. Their views should be written clearly with supporting arguments. Personal criticism is inappropriate.

Reviewers must bring to the attention of the Editor any information that may be reason to reject publication of a manuscript.

Reviewers should identify the relevant published work that has not been cited by the Authors. Any statement that has been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. Selected reviewer that feels unqualified to review the manuscript or could not review it promptly should notify the Editor and excuse himself from the review process.

Author responsibilities

At electronic submission, the corresponding author must on behalf of all authors declare and upon request certify that their manuscripts are their original work and have not been published elsewhere. They must also declare and upon request certify that the manuscript is not currently under review elsewhere.

Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable.

Make sure that issues about publication ethics, authorship, figure formats, data and references format have been appropriately considered.

Ensure that all authors have approved the content of the submitted manuscript.
