      Guide for Authors

      【官网信息】

      Journal of Communications and Information

      Networks

      Journal

of Communications and Information Networks (JCIN) aims to foster

dissemination of the novel revolutionary technologies and to trace the

continued developing research areas covering both conventional subjects

and inter-disciplines. Authentic articles in various directions of

communications and information networks, scientific commentaries

involving the emerging research issues are welcome.

      The

general scope ranges from theoretical contributions to practical

implementation, and includes, but is not limited to the following:

      broadband wireless communications, optical communications,satellite

communications, high altitude platform communications, software defined

radio, cognitive radio networks, mobile Ad hoc networks, software defined

networks, multimedia communications, Internet of things, cyber

      security, network management.

      The

manuscript is suggested to be no more than 15 pages. Full experimental

details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced.

      Manuscripts

submitted to JCIN should neither be published previously nor be under

consideration for publication in another journal. The main article types

      are as follows.

      Original

Articles (including references, notes, captions and appendix, the same

as below) are expected to present original and new advance on the

emerging fields of communications and information networks. Original

articles include an abstract of about 200 words, 3-8 key words (the same

as below), an introduction, sections with brief subheadings,

conclusion, and up to 60 references. Additional supplemental material is

permitted as appendix in the end of the article.

      Reviews

should describe and synthesize recent developments of communications

and information networks of significance and highlight future

directions. A review should include an abstract, an introduction that

outlines the main theme, brief subheadings, an outline of important

unresolved questions, and up to 100 references.

      Authors

must use the JCIN LaTex Template to prepare their manuscript. Using the

template file will substantially shorten the time to complete

copy-editing and publication of accepted manuscripts.

      Title

      Concise and informative.

      Authors

      Authors’

full first and last names must be provided. One author should be

designated as the corresponding author and should be marked with

superscript asterisk (*). All authors’ email addresses should be

included and placed in the footnote of the front page.

      Affiliations

      Affiliations

of all authors should be provided. Each affiliation should include

complete address information including city, zip code, state/province,

and country (e.g., University of New South Wales, Sydney NSW 2052,

Australia; Peking University, Beijing 100871, China). The affiliations

should be placed in the footnote of the front page.

      Abstract

      Abstract

(150-250 words) must be a concise yet comprehensive reflection of what

is in your article. It should start with some brief background

information: one or two sentences giving a broad introduction to the

field comprehensible to the general reader, and then a brief summary of

more detailed background information specific to your study. This should

be followed by an explanation of the objectives/methods and then the

results. The final sentence should outline the main conclusions of the

study, in terms that will be comprehensible to all of our readers.

      In

particular, the abstract must be self-contained, without abbreviations,

footnotes, or references. It should be a microcosm of the full article.

The abstract must be written as one paragraph, and should not contain

displayed mathematical equations or tabular material. Ensure that your

abstract reads well and is grammatically correct.

      Keywords

      3-8

words/phrases. We recommend that the keywords are specific to the

article, yet reasonably common within the subject discipline.

      Funding

      All

sources of funding of the study should be disclosed. Clearly indicate

grants that you have received in support of your research work and if

you received funds to cover publication costs. A listing of complete

funding information should be placed in the footnote of the front page.

      Main Text

      The

manuscript should start with a brief introduction describing the

paper’s significance. The introduction should provide sufficient

background information to make the article intelligible to readers in

other disciplines, and sufficient context that the significance of the

experimental findings is clear. Technical terms should be defined.

Symbols, abbreviations, and acronyms should be defined the first time

they appear. All tables and figures should be cited in numerical order.

All data must be shown in the main text. References to unpublished

materials are not allowed to substantiate significant conclusions of the

      paper.

Nomenclature and units: Follow internationally accepted rules and conventions: use the international system of units (SI).

      Math

formulae: Matrices and vectors are in bold. Number consecutively any

equations that have to be displayed separately from the text (if

referred to explicitly in the text).

      Illustration

      Authors

are encouraged to prepare illustrations in color, especially in those

cases where color enhances technical details and comprehension; for this

reason, we have been publishing color figures with no charge to the

authors. All figures and tables should be inserted into the main text

close to their first citation and must be numbered following their

number of appearance (Fig. 1,Figs. 2-6, Tab. 1, etc.). Each figure,

sub-figure, and table should have a short explanatory title and caption.

      Figures

and tables should be provided during submission as separate electronic

      files and named numerically (e.g., fig1.eps, fig2.vsd, fig2.pdf,

table3.pdf). In order to preserve the figures’ integrity across multiple

computer platforms, you are encouraged to provide vector graphics in

the following formats: .EPS/.PDF/.VSD/.PS (make sure that the graphics

have no sawteeth when they are extended to whatever bigger size). All

fonts must be embedded in order to achieve the best-quality results.

      References

      References

are required to be numbered in order of appearance in the text

(including table captions and figure legends) and listed individually at

the end of the manuscript, with numbers within square brackets [ ].

Each reference should have a unique number; do not combine references or

      embed references in notes.

      TEXT CITATIONS

      Cite

references in consecutive numerical order starting with Ref. [1]. Once

you number the reference, use the same number in all subsequent

citations. It is not necessary to mention the author(s) of the source

unless it is relevant to your text. If you do include author names in

text, list the first author’s family name. If there are two or more

authors, use “et al.”. (Note that “et al.” Is not italicized.)

      Examples:

      1. One author: “SMITH[1] reports …”

      2. Two or more authors: “SMITH et al.[23] report …”

      3. To cite more than one source at a time: [2,3], [3-6], [12-14,19]

THE REFERENCE LIST (at the end of the manuscript)

      List

references in the order they were cited (numerical order, starting with

[1]). List only one reference per bracketed number. The names of all

authors should be given in the reference list unless there are more than

three, in which case you may use “et al.”. The citation style of JCIN

adheres to Chinese Standard GB/T 7714-2005. We recommend preparing the

references with a bibliography software package, such as EndNote to

avoid typing mistakes and duplicated references.
