Electromagnetic

Science is an international academic journal covering cutting-edge

advancements in electromagnetics, linking theoretical innovations and

technological breakthroughs.

Aims & Scope

The

journal, Electromagnetic Science, aims to provide a platform for

publishing the most advanced original and innovative research results in

any field related to electromagnetics and photonics, and will be a

prestigious peer-reviewed international journal in electromagnetics and

photonics community. With emphasis on comprehensiveness and importance,

the journal targets recent trends and challenges in the science and

technology of electromagnetic and photonics worldwide. By presenting

theories and applications, the journal serves scientists and engineers a

forum for discussing and exchanging academic insights and promotes a

global ecology in the society of electromagnetics and photonics.

The

technical scope of Electromagnetic Science covers the latest advanced

researches in electromagnetic fundamental theories, photonic theories

and technologies, electromagnetic/photonic enabling technologies and

engineering developments, frontiers of interdisciplinary

electromagnetics/photonic as well as applications. The typical fields of

interests, but not limited to, include: the fundamental electromagnetic

theory, photonic theory and technologies, artificial intelligence-aided

techniques, antenna theory and techniques, bio-electromagnetics,

computational electromagnetics, electromagnetic information,

electromagnetic compatibility,  metamaterials and

metasurface, magnetic materials and technologies, microwave theory and

techniques, plasmonics, quantum electromagnetics, scattering, imaging

and remote sensing, IoT, and distributive electronics,

electromagnetic/photonics related interdisciplinary fields and many

others.

Publishing model

Electromagnetic

Science publishes in the model of Gold Fully Open Access (OA), with all

the content freely available without charge to users or their

institutions, rather than having authors and readers being separated

behind a paywall. Readers are allowed to read, download, copy,

distribute, print, search, or use them for any other lawful purpose, as

long as proper attribution is given.

Article processing charge

The

journal Electromagnetic Science is an Open Access journal supported by

article processing charges (APCs). There are no submission charges.

APC Rate

The APCs are fully waived until December 31st, 2026. The authors need to pay the below rates beginning in 2026:

Research Article: $ 1800 USD

Review Article: $ 1800 USD

Communication: $ 1200 USD

News & Perspective: $ 1200 USD

These

rates are exclusive of any taxes or duties that may be levied or

assessed on it. Tax is based on the customer's location and is not

applicable to all customers. Tax will be automatically added where

applicable during the payment process.

Research Article

Article

is one of the primary format of research content published in

Electromagnetic Science. It features the full-length type of paper (6–8

pages) that reports important study with novelty and completeness.

Articles go through peer-review processes organized by the Track Editor

of the corresponding research field.

Communication

is the type of short research paper (3 pages) that contains original

and significant study with high novelty and up-to-date importance.

Review*

Review

is the content that presents an authoritative and balanced overview of

the recent developments in a research field. The scope of a review

article should be broad enough to cover the academic advancement of the

whole community but not only limited to a single laboratory.

Academically balanced ideas are expected in a Review. Reviews typically

have 10–15 pages and are also commonly peer-reviewed.

News & Perspective*

News

& Perspective presents the latest advances in electromagnetics and

related research fields that was recently published in journals or

presented at conferences. News & Perspective articles (<2 pages)

are typically proposed and invited, although proposals for papers to be

covered in this section can be made to the editorial team. News &

Perspective are not peer-reviewed, but undergo editing in consultation

with the author.

*These

content types should not include original (previously unpublished)

research findings and may only contain minimal new supporting data. All

the four types of contents will be published in Gold Fully Open Access.
