      Manuscript Preparation

      【官网信息】

PhotoniX Life publishes the following article types:

      Research

      The

journal welcomes submitting original research articles, as long as the

work presented demonstrates scientific rigor and provides a meaningful

advancement of knowledge in the field.

      Review

Reviews are a feature of the journal that may include, but are not limited to, the following types of articles:

systematic and substantial syntheses of specific research areas,

evaluations of progress in specified areas,

      critical assessments concerning issues

within the scope of PhotoniX Life.

      Perspective

      Perspective

articles in PhotoniX Life provide a platform for leading experts to

share their assessments of the current state-of-the-art and prospects

within their specialized areas of photonics research in the life

sciences. These invited contributions are expected to offer a unique,

insightful analysis that goes beyond a comprehensive literature review,

emphasizing the author's perspective and vision for the field.

Perspective articles will be subject to peer review to ensure they make a

substantive contribution to the journal's readership.

      Title page

The title page should include the following:

      - A title that accurately reflects the content of the research, including the research design if appropriate.

      - The full names and institutional affiliations of all authors.

      -

If a collaboration group should be listed as an author, please list the

group name as the author and include the individual members' names in

      the Acknowledgements section.

      - Identification of the corresponding author.

      It's

important to note that large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT,

do not currently meet the authorship criteria for PhotoniX Life.

Authorship carries accountability for the work, which cannot be

      effectively applied to LLMs.

      If

an LLM was used in the research, its use should be properly documented

in the Methods section (or a suitable alternative section if a Methods

section is not available) of the manuscript.

      Abstract

      The

abstract should concisely summarize the article's aim, key findings,

and overall purpose. Avoid using abbreviations and do not include

      citations in the abstract.

      Keywords

Provide 3-10 keywords that represent the main content and focus of the article.

      Introduction

      The

Introduction should provide background on the study, explain the

research aims, summarize relevant existing literature, and justify the

      need for this particular study.

      Results

      This

section should present the key findings of the study, including the

results of any statistical analyses. These can be conveyed through text,

      tables, and/or figures as appropriate.

Discussion (or combined Results and Discussion)

      For

research articles, the Discussion should interpret the findings in the

context of existing research and acknowledge the limitations of the

study. For methodology papers, this section should cover any practical

or operational issues encountered in conducting the research.

      Conclusions

The Conclusions should clearly state the main takeaways and explain the importance and relevance of the study to the field.

Methods/Experimental (can also be placed after Introduction)

      Methods Section Content:

Clearly state the aim, design, and setting of the study.

Provide details about the participants or materials used, including relevant characteristics.

      Give

a detailed description of all processes and methodologies employed. Use

generic names where possible, but include proprietary brand names in

      parentheses when relevant.

Specify the type of statistical analysis used, and include a power calculation if appropriate.

      Ethics and Consent:

For studies involving human participants, data, tissue, or animals, the Methods section must include a statement on:

Ethics approval from the relevant review board or committee.

      Informed consent obtained from participants.

This ensures the research was conducted in an ethical manner and with the appropriate protections in place.

      List of abbreviations

      Abbreviations:

Any abbreviations used in the text should be defined at first use.

Provide a list of all abbreviations used in the manuscript.

      Declarations Section:

All manuscripts must include the following sections under the "Declarations" heading:

      Availability of data and materials

      Competing interests

      Funding

      Authors' contributions

      Acknowledgments

      Authors' information (optional)

If any of these sections are not applicable to your manuscript, include the section heading followed by "Not applicable".

The information to be provided in each Declarations section:

Availability of data and materials: Indicate where the data supporting the findings of this study are available.

Competing interests: Disclose any financial or non-financial competing interests.

Funding: Provide details of any funding received for the study.

Authors' contributions: Describe the specific contributions made by each author.

Acknowledgments: Acknowledge any individuals who contributed to the work but did not meet the criteria for authorship.

Authors' information (optional): Provide any additional details about the authors, if desired.

      Availability of data and materials

      The

"Availability of data and materials" statement is a mandatory section

that must be included in all manuscripts. This statement should provide

information on where the data supporting the findings of the study can

      be accessed.

Possible formats for the data availability statement include:

      "The

datasets generated and/or analyzed during the current study are

available in the [NAME] repository, [PERSISTENT WEB LINK TO DATASETS]."

      "The

datasets used and/or analyzed during the current study are available

from the corresponding author upon reasonable request."

      "All

data generated or analyzed during this study are included in this

published article [and its supplementary information files]."

      "The

datasets generated and/or analyzed during the current study are not

publicly available due [REASON WHY DATA ARE NOT PUBLIC] but are

available from the corresponding author on reasonable request."

"Data sharing is not applicable to this article as no datasets were generated or analyzed during the current study."

      "The

data that support the findings of this study are available from [third

party name] but restrictions apply to the availability of these data,

which were used under license for the current study, and so are not

publicly available. Data are however available from the authors upon

reasonable request and with permission of [third party name]."

If the manuscript does not contain any data, the statement should simply state "Not applicable."

      If

the conclusions of the paper rely on publicly available data, the

authors must cite that data in the manuscript. Data citations should

include a persistent identifier, such as a DOI, and be included in the

reference list. The data citations in the reference list should follow

the minimum information recommended by DataCite and the journal's style.

The dataset identifiers, including DOIs, should be expressed as full

URLs in the references. For example:

      Hao

Z, AghaKouchak A, Nakhjiri N, Farahmand A. Global integrated drought

monitoring and prediction system (GIDMaPS) data sets. figshare. 2014.

      http://dx.doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.853801

With the corresponding text in the Availability of data and materials statement:

      The

datasets generated during and/or analyzed during the current study are

available in the [NAME] repository, [PERSISTENT WEB LINK TO

      DATASETS].[Reference number]

      Competing interests

      All

financial and non-financial competing interests must be declared in

this section. The journal's editorial policies provide a full

explanation of what constitutes a competing interest. If you are unsure

whether you or any co-authors have a competing interest, you should

contact the editorial office. When listing competing interests, use the

authors' initials to refer to each individual. If there are no competing

interests to declare, the section should state "The authors declare

that they have no competing interests"

      Funding

      All

sources of funding for the research reported in the manuscript must be

declared. If the funding body has had a specific role in any aspect of

the research, such as the conceptualization, design, data collection,

analysis, decision to publish, or preparation of the manuscript, this

      should be clearly stated.

      Authors' contributions

      The

individual contributions of each author to the manuscript should be

specified in this section. The journal's editorial policies guide the

criteria for authorship. When listing the contributions, use the

initials of the authors' names, for example: "FC analyzed and

interpreted the patient data regarding the hematological disease and the

transplant. RH performed the histological examination of the kidney and

was a major contributor to writing the manuscript. All authors read and

approved the final manuscript." This ensures clarity and transparency

about the specific roles played by each author in the research and

      manuscript preparation.

      Acknowledgments

      Acknowledgements:

      Anyone

who contributed to the article but does not meet the criteria for

authorship should be acknowledged, including those who provided

professional writing services or materials. The authors must obtain

permission to acknowledge from all those mentioned in this section. The

journal's editorial policies provide a full explanation of the criteria

for authorship and acknowledgments. If there is no one to acknowledge,

the authors should write "Not applicable" in this section.

      Group Authorship:

      For

manuscripts involving a collaboration group, if you would like the

names of the individual members to be searchable through their PubMed

      records, you should:

Include the title of the collaboration group on the title page and in the submission system.

      List

the collaborating author names in the format "First Name, Middle

initial(s) (optional), Last Name" as the last paragraph of the

      Acknowledgements section.

You can include institution or country information for each author, but it should be consistent across all authors.

      Authors' information

      This section is optional.

      This

section provides an opportunity to include relevant information about

the author(s) that may help the reader understand the context and

standpoint of the work. Appropriate information to include could be the

authors' qualifications, current positions held at institutions or

societies, or other relevant background details. When referring to the

authors, use their initials rather than full names. This section should

not be used to declare any competing interests, as that should be done

      in a separate dedicated section.

      Footnotes

      Footnotes

should be designated within the text using a superscript number. It is

not allowed to use footnotes for references/citations.

      References

Examples of the Vancouver reference style are shown below.  See our editorial policies for author guidance on good citation practice.

      Web

links and URLs: All web links and URLs, including links to the authors'

websites, should be assigned a reference number and included in the

reference list rather than within the text of the manuscript. They

should be provided in full, including both the title of the site and the

URL, as well as the date the site was accessed. If an author or group

of authors can be associated with a web link, such as for weblogs, then

they should also be included in the reference.
